I would like to ask a question and I hope it does not come out as inappropriate. I am not Jew, but I have been attending a Jewish community for a while now. I celebrate holidays, Shabbat, volunteer, and lots of learning. I have also been experiencing Jewish culture since I was young (including singing in Hebrew and Yiddish). I am not in the process of converting and not sure if I will be. Is it appropriate to say "I am part of X Jewish community/congregation" when I am asked?
I am always a bit uncertain what to answer when asked about religious or the questions that follow the "where do you go on Friday night" question. I usually explain the whole thing (pretty much what I wrote) but I was wondering if saying a summarised "I am part of X Jewish community/congregation" would be ok or not.
