Japanese Teaching License
I am currently working in an International school In Tokyo, Japan. My plan is to stay in the country for the time being, but I will also have to move to South of the country soon, hopefully in one year or so.
So far, my attempts at being hired in the Kansai area have been unsuccessful (despite a few interviews... too bad for me). One school seemed to be eager to move on with me, but when they required me to have a Japanese teaching license (issued by MEXT), the conversation ended. The school is a Japanese institution offering the IB program both in English and Japanese, so I am still interested.
Has anyone here experience in this regard? How long does it take to get this license? How much is it (crucial detail)? How difficult for a foreigner? Any help is appreciated.
I know this is subreddit for international teachers, but I am one and am looking to expand my horizons. Thanks
