I have a green cheek conure, and I’m having trouble with its diet. I’ve tried many different types of food, but it refuses almost everything. The only thing it really wants to eat is sunflower seeds.

I know sunflower seeds aren’t very healthy if given too often, so I try to limit them. Because of that, I started mixing different foods together and even grinding them into a powder. Sometimes it looks like it eats a little, but I’m not even sure if it actually does.

The only way I can get it to touch the food is by adding a small amount of sunflower seeds into the mix.

Is this normal for green cheek conures? How can I encourage it to eat a more balanced diet?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!
