Minor injuries - crutch thief!
Was in minor injuries at the Western this afternoon. They were short staffed folk were waiting about an hour and a half/hour and forty minutes. It happens - you get on with it.
But one guy, who seemed to have chronic main character syndrome (or whatever the kids call it), who was there when we arrived wasn’t happy to wait. Kept tapping on the reception glass and hassling the receptionist. Had an argument with the treatment nurse when they went back and forth to reception. Playing videos on his phone without headphones and all that jazz.
Then was finally seen, seemed to calm down, was sent to x-ray, came back and was sat in a wheelchair - I assume waiting for x-ray results. About ten minutes of this was too much for the poor bloke so when someone else was called ahead of him he barged past the nurse and into a vacant consultation room to steal a pair of crutches and make his escape.
I’m just out after being seen (in was about an hour and forty five minutes roughly to be seen but it was fine, I’m an adult and I had my phone) so have had limited option to just go “what were they like!”.
But genuinely a young lad in his mid twenties (give or take) behaving worse than several primary school kids, some of whom might have had painful broken bones, was a bit of a surprise.
He looked to have quite harassed the reception staff which is why I’m posting more than anything. Maybe they’ll see this and have a moment of self awareness and think “yeah I was a bit of a dick really”? Probably not though. Heh.
