Mo sent me this V1/V2/V3 bracelet link comparison… are factories really upgrading the hidden parts now?
Mo sent me these comparison pics of the newer bracelet links, and honestly this is the kind of tiny detail that either means real improvement or pure factory marketing — depending on who you ask.
The main difference is around the hinge hole / screw bar area.
From what Mo explained:
V1 is the older market version.
The hinge hole is slightly angled, finishing looks rougher, and the screw bar area supposedly doesn’t line up with gen specs. Basically: usable, but not really “correct.”
V2 seems to be the improved Jubilee-style version.
The hole is cleaner, no obvious angled cut, thread position has been adjusted, and Mo says the parts are compatible with gen sizing.
V3 is being pushed as the “ultimate” Oyster-style version.
Rounded CNC hole, clearer machining texture, corrected screw bar/thread position, and supposedly fully interchangeable with gen parts.
Now I’m torn.
On one hand, this is exactly the kind of detail that separates a cheap-feeling bracelet from one that actually feels solid. If the screw doesn’t sit right, if the link isn’t flat, or if the hole is slightly off, you can feel it even if nobody sees it.
On the other hand… we are literally QC’ing the inside of a bracelet hole now. 😭
So I’m curious what everyone thinks:
Is this a real upgrade worth paying extra for, or is Mo/factory just showing us a microscopic detail and calling it “ultimate”?
Not sponsored, not a review yet — just trying to figure out if this is actually meaningful before I GL anything.
