Management Company Negligence - Suggestions on how to proceed
Hello,
I own a 1 bedroom in a unit downtown and during the last tenant handover, I noticed leakage on a common wall of the unit. I informed the management company of the building asking them to investigate the cause of the leakage.
The unit was inspected by them but no reports were shared for 3 weeks. They kept dilly dallying saying that it’s not their job etc and after threatening them of negligence they provided a report where they inspected the neighbouring unit also 30 days after the complaint was raised - with the comment floor is dry - no leakage. In the meanwhile, the damaged wall was fixed by my team.
The report was hilarious at best as no tools or a moisture meter was used. They tried to blame my bathroom for the leakage but the immediate wall from my bathroom is dry with no leakage.
These guys have messed up the building and I want to teach them a lesson. Does anyone have any experience in dealing with issues like this? The managers don’t reply - it’s just a mess. Any recourse to be done?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated
