I've been self-employed for a while and always found the expense rules confusing — especially around meals, clothing, and phone bills where it's only "partially" claimable.

Ended up building a simple tracker for myself that checks each expense against HMRC rules and tells you if it's claimable, partially claimable, or not allowed. Also has mileage at 45p/mile built in.
