I've spent the last couple of months refining my first book, I wanted to finish it before slowly releasing it, but lately, rereading and rewriting the second part (the most important), I've been hit by the realization that it's more of a self-reflection on the concept of grief than anything that's usually seen on Royal Road.

Now, it is important to note that I like it as it is and don't intend on changing it. It evolved into a deeply personal work, but also it was meant to be a writing exercise before working on my passion project that's far more in line with Royal Road's main genres.

My thoughts were: "I'm already going to finish it, why not publish it? Maybe I could gather a starting fan base for the other story, and gather some feedback on my writing".

But I fear it is really too far from what the readers come to RR for, so, should I publish it anyway? Or is there another platform far more suited that I'm ignoring?

TL;DR: My work is far from the site's usual genres, and I don't know if it's worth publishing it on RR or should look into alternatives.
