A concrete prose tip.
For Authors, old as well as budding.
A simple method to enrich the prose of your novel by a bit. Use once every two to three chapters and only on important moments or those that you want readers to remember. Not good at explaining, so I will just show example. It's called stoccato.
Example 1 -
The space under Aria's feet compressed as she traveled hundreds of miles with each step.
The improv - The space under Aria's feet compressed. The mountains. The rivers. The cities. Every scenery blurred past as she traveled hundreds of miles with each step.
Example 2 -
The green of the forest was dyed in red with the army trampling over the monster corpses, leaving not one intact behind.
Improv - The green of the forest was dyed in red. The goblins. The orcs. The knolls. Not a single intact corpse was left after the army's trample.
Sorry for typos or grammar mistakes, posting from my clunky android.
Readers love your ideas. Please let them also love your writing. But excess of something only brings ruin. Use sparingly.
