Gentle Glow

You're the halo 'round the trees

Golden light that pierces the soul

Subtle, fleeting, bathes every damn inch with it's glow

You're the glowing of the embers

Quiet but radiant clinging burn in every fiber

The beauty of the remains of consumption

So far so gone

Often out of reach or out of view

But in those fleeting moments

I glimpse your burning essence

Gentle, deep, warmth against the cold

That wholey wraps and lingers

And then the air leaves, the earth turns

And the glow is gone

And the earth is cold and naked once again
