I was wondering this because I saw an article about a man getting almost 1000 years. Now here's the thing. What he allegedly did, he deserves it. He deserves the worst punishment they could give if he's guilty. I'm in no way saying his punishment is wrong or anything, I just wonder why they don't say life without the possibility of parole? Is it done to make a statement, since no one is surviving a sentence that long? Is it because of the multiple charges being added up? I'm just wondering how it works.
