These large sugar crystals were grown using the hanging string method. Some of them took over six months to grow. They are quite big, but not perfect — they're opaque and have some irregularities in shape. Still trying to grow a perfectly transparent sugar crystal using the hanging string method.
One year ago, I made my very first attempt at growing Mohr's salt crystals. It was a successful "0 to 1" milestone for me. I will probably try it again in the future to see if I can achieve perfectly transparent and crystal-clear ones next time!
It took almost a year to finally get these crystals.
I made it by reacting cream of tartar and baking soda that I bought from Shopee. I'm not sure if it's piezoelectric, as I haven't done any testing.
