sls pune - a few dumb questions about clubs and campus vibe
hey guys, incoming fresher here. just trying to get a realistic picture of sls pune before i actually show up on campus.
had a few random things i wanted to ask
club selections: how intense are the selection rounds for the big cells? is it like a full-blown scary interview process or do they actually take people in easily?
free time: how much do these clubs eat into your life? am i going to lose all my weekends or is it chill enough to handle alongside classes (specially if i am planning to do my personal share of research and surfing the law everyday)?
mca / adr with zero experience: i have literally never done a moot or anything adr-related in my life. i do have my decent share in the MUN circuit, having completed all three tiers- delegate, chair, secretariat (tbh I find MUNs utterly pretentious and nonsensical with a bunch of acne prone teenagers trying to launch wars and failing to actually use the platform meant for peace and come up with a resolution with some critical thinking. abrasive kids.) do they actually teach newbies?
batch dynamics: is there any weird superiority complex between ba llb, bba llb, and bcom llb? like do people actually form cliques based on their degree or does everyone just mix together?
pcmb to bcom llb transition: so i’m a pcmb student entering the commerce side. honestly, how hard is it going to be to cope with the academics and actually stay at par with peers who already know commerce? any tips on how not to drown in the first few months?
senior-junior interactions: what’s the dynamic like? are seniors actually friendly and approachable, or do they try to "parent" you and act overly authoritative? so far, while my interactions has been minimal and formal ,being present on the GC, with the seniors, I might be quick to judge and wrong here, they come to me as someone quite arrogant and fake-fun people, i genuinely hope they are not and i am a bad judge of character. The seniors on the GC are represent only a minute portion of their batch and it would be immature of me to jump to conclusions.
past year papers: how do we get access to previous year question papers for semesters? is there an official library portal that actually works, or is it mostly dependent on senior-junior google drives?
batch trips: just on a lighter note, does the college or the batch organize any official yearly batch excursions/trips? or is it entirely on us to plan our own getaways over the weekends?
laundry at tulip hostel: how is the laundry service also is it good enough to send out white clothes?
dress code strictness: on that note, exactly how crazy strict is the college about the uniform policy?
