Can I park on your driveway?
I am a student at the bcit campus burnaby. Looking to find a parking spot somewhat near campus. As you all know, parking at bcit is a scam and a huge problem. I’m looking to pay somebody a fraction of the price I would be paying at bcit to park on your driveway Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm roughly. I have a tiny car (Honda fit). I get cheaper and legal parking; you get some money and you get to help an unemployed student! Before you tell me to take the bus, I commute from Ladner for my 7:30am class everyday. I have also tried almost every trick in the book to avoid paying parking at my school haha.
Maybe It’s scummy but I have no income and only expenses. Hopefully you can understand.
Please reach out to me if you’d like to discuss.
Pulp and paper
So I made a post a few months ago here asking if this is a dying industry. It’s seemed most people said it’s a changing industry and still has potential. Since I made that post, 3 major pulp mills have now closed for good. What are your thoughts and opinions? Should I stay at my pulp mill or is it time to start looking for a new industry?
How did this even happen??
How the fuck did someone take all my crypto in my sleep?? All 3 devices I have logged in on are with me and I’ve never leaked anything?? They swapped it and traded it at 1am, also on my Uniswap account. Please what do I do??
Any casual soccer leagues?
Been playing soccer for ages and moving back to Van for the semester. Looking for a beer league to join.
3rd class books!!
Hey would anyone be interested to sell their 3rd class books? I have all the online pdfs already but I prefer the physical book. Vancouver area or kootneys.
All I can think about is travelling again..
The last 7 years I have just been moving around and working seasonal jobs. From Canada to NZ in surf and ski towns, some backpacking in El Salvador. I finally came back to Vancouver to work on a career. I’m halfway through my school, working a summer student job as a power engineer. I have a well payed job and a decent career ahead of me but all I can think about is the fun I was having overseas working for minimum wage, going to the beach, socialising with strangers, meeting German backpackers at hostels. It was so fun and I still feel like I should be doing this. Has anyone else felt this? What did you do? I liked when my life had no direction and I was just working fun and social jobs to then go surfing afterwards or have drinks. I’m now 25 and still pretty happy. I’d like to hear what advice or words people have to say that also can relate to that addiction of travelling.
What job is most fun?
So I understand most jobs for power engineers are not supposed to be fun or entertaining and it’s a pretty serious career. I’m relatively new to the industry and curious what interesting positions others have worked and enjoyed. Not so much the paycheck but the work itself. Where did you find yourself relatively happy—both at work and after hours?
Any tips for shift work??
So I’m starting shift work next week in the steam plant. Im worried about the effects this will have on my energy and health. My schedule will be 4 on 4 off (2 12hr day shifts and then 2 12hr night shifts) What should I do after that last day shift and that last night shift? A little about me: I don’t have any sleeping problems (yet), I’m trying to eat lots and stay at the gym, I like to have routine for the most part.
I’m aware of the general risks and harm it will have. Any tips would be appreciated.
