Hound help for older parents

My parents (age 66 and 71) made the choice of adopting a hound mix puppy. I’m shocked that the shelter let it happen and didn’t try to dissuade them (unless they were just too oblivious). They’ve had her for about 8 months now and she’s approximately 1 year old. And they’re having A LOT of problems with her.

They use crates in their home and crate her whenever they’re not home. At night she does sleep in the bed with them. She is wanting to run away and is playing really aggressively with their two other dogs (one is a dachshund/chihuahua mix and one a small terrier mix). She particularly likes to try and pick the dachshund mix up by the neck. She is also chewing on and destroying anything left in the floor.

They recently fenced in their yard in an attempt to give her more room to run and exercise, but it doesn’t seem to be enough to burn up her energy or get her to not be rough with the other dogs.

They’re very attached and want to keep her if at all possible, but they’ve never had a dog that needs so much stimulation and exercise. What advice or resources would you recommend for this situation?

Is there any enrichment activities or toys that you’d recommend? They believe she is more of a sight hound because she does point, but seems to have boundless energy.
