LES Method idea

I've been trying to figure out a fast method for LES simulations and I came up with a "demo" concept. As usual in LES, the velocity field is split into high and low frequencies;
u' -> low freq
u'' -> high freq
Where the low freq part is solved and the high freq part is modeled. The high freqs can be modeled either via an SGS model or implicitly using upstream interpolation, but both have their flaws.
SGS model - High computational cost with multiple strain calculations
Implicit - SGS energy dissipation is purely mathematical, i.e. non physical.

To resolve this I came up with the method of using CentralInterp(u') + UpstramInterp(u'') to construct a stable face value. To efficiently but accurately split u' and u'' I thought to use a laplacian smoother as such:
u' = u + k * L(u)
u'' = u - u'
Where k = dx^2 * S / (4 * S + C), S is the local absolute strain rate and C is a constant. This creates a strain based, SGS-model-like, filter with an asymptotic result that converges towards the diffusive CFL limit k = dx^2/4.

This way an Implicit SGS model can be used with a physically true but compuationally friendly filter resulting in a Semi-Implicit Variational Multiscale LES model.
This is currently just a concept, so don't take it too seriously, think of it like a creative excercise/Brainstorm :)

Short glossary paper

Hi! I recently wrote a short paper proposing new glossery words for the components of velocity (just for fun but still scientific) in fluid dynamics. I would really like to send it to a professor or publisher of some sort since it still is highly usable (I won't disclose the exact contents here because I dont want to be plagiarized), but I just graduated secondary school and have no current affiliation with a university. I am mostly interesed in a short review which would greatly help my future studies (aiming beyond PhD). Can anybody help me with how I should proceed?

The paper conatins, the proposal, pronunciation, reasoning, and a glossary citation.

C++ or Fortran?

I'm a hobby CFD programmer looking for the best program to migrate to. I like to build my own modular engines and programs rather than using stuff like openFOAM. Should I learn c++ or Fortran?

My current approach would be to start with c++ since it is more accessible than fortran, but later move to fortran when I feel comfortable with compiler coding.

Theory about the talismans

I'm currently rewatching and I'm on season 3 ep 4. I noticed that when Randall uses the talisman to try to ward of the monsters they say "It doesn't work that way" as if they know exactly how the the talismans work. I just got this crazy feeling that the talismans are actually powerless but the monsters pretend they work to make their game more interesting and give the villagers false hope.
