(typed this on my phone so it is not good) I have a problem. I’m writing this fantasy world, spans across several books each covering different stories in the world. I like to somewhat reflect real history in my world, so I’m in my world‘s version of the intertestimental period, just before the coming of Christ. I’ve been having a problem writing morality, the biggest thing in my belief is the idea that all good comes from God, and all hope we have comes from Jesus’ death on the cross. At first I included a god in my worlds that is greater than the other gods, the other gods are imperfect, but this 1 god is perfect. there’s a garden of Eden style story, a flood style story, and an exodus style story in the mythology. but this wasn’t enough, I realized my characters still had no chance at salvation based on my beliefs, it felt like everything was for nothing. so I introduced a prophesy that God would come to earth as a man. Here’s where my conscience started to get messed with, this already didn’t sound right, making my own version of Jesus that I claim to be perfect, come die for the sins of these characters? Even worse, I wanted to have scripture for the Worldbuilding, that meant I would be changing the bible to adjust to my world, this definitely felt wrong. I though about having other characters make sacrifices, and they do, but still, they aren’t the perfect lamb. So I either have a world that I cannot connect with morally, or I have a world that feels blasphemous and lazy for repurposing the bible. any advice from those with stronger minds than I? (feel free to ask about the world, story and mythology!)
