I helped a friend to back up his broken hdd and to a new drive which might contained some obscenity (like SA) or hentai media that very borderline CSAEM, back in Vietnam
I was very busy after that and did not have the time to clear out his contents before pack up my gear for shipment to Canada. I arrived here as an international student.
i have noticed that my shipment is being held by Customs longer than my first winter clothing and medication shipment (14 days compare to now more than 31 days). I think i might be checked for such media.
q1. What could be the consequences if i got charged? jailed time? fine? How much would it be possible? For most scenario, plead deal would be most sensible and lightest result, right? or is there any way i could try to defend myself? like possession only, no evidence of producing or distribution with first offender with not intention.
q2. as if i plead guilty, will i be able to continue my education here? as this would screwed me up really bad if deportation is included.
Before any judgement comments being sent to me about how stupid i am, yes i know that i was very stupid but i got so busy that i forgot to delete that data. now it is reasonable that for my stupidity i had to pay the ultimate price.
