Should I buy a second 32" monitor or a 27" for a dual-monitor setup?

I already own an LG 32SR83U-W (32" 4K) and I'm planning to buy a dual monitor arm.

Initially, I was thinking of getting a 27" QHD monitor and using it in portrait mode next to my 32". However, I realized that if I buy another 32" monitor, I'd have a lot more flexibility with the monitor arm.

For example, I could:

Run 32" + 32" side by side in landscape.

Use one landscape + one portrait.

Stack them vertically if I ever want to.

Rearrange them whenever I feel like it without having mismatched sizes.

I know a 32" monitor in portrait mode is very tall and probably not as ergonomic for daily use, but I like having the option.

My usage is a mix of:

Programming as I do trice WFH

General productivity

Watching movies and YouTube

If you were in my position, would you buy:

  1. Another 32" monitor for maximum flexibility, or

  2. A 27" QHD monitor specifically for portrait use?

I'd love to hear from people who have actually used both setups. Which did you end up preferring, and why?
