Garage shop exhaust design
Looking for some advice on the title. 2-car 24’ x 24’ x 8’ insulated and finished garage that could use an exhaust setup to use while doing some steel fabrication work (cutting, grinding, welding, etc). This will not be source collecting, just full shop exhaust.
Current plan is run a hood from the center of the ceiling near the wall opposite of the garage door. Hood > 90 deg elbow > 8” 800 CFM in-line duct fan in the attic > short duct section > exhaust out the side of the attic. Crack the garage about 2-3’ while the fan is running.
Can someone help out with a few items:
-sizing the hood
-distance from the back wall to the collection point
-recommendations for a vent(size, backdraft damper, grill, etc)
-anything I may have missed or gotten wrong in my design
