ow I’m tackling my "To-Read" pile without losing my mind
Let’s be real: we’ve all got a "to-read" mountain, and those 3-hour YouTube deep dives usually just lead to a nap. It’s hard to stay consistent when you're overwhelmed with information.
I’ve been experimenting with a new learning workflow to make things stick, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this approach:
- Aggressive Filtering: I stopped trying to read everything. Now, I always start with a high-level summary or a mind map to see if the content is even worth my time.
- Active Recall: I’ve started turning my notes into instant quizzes. If I can't answer 3 basic questions about an article right after reading, I haven't learned it.
- Audio-Learning: I’ve found that converting dense text into audio helps me "pre-read" during my commute, making the actual study session much faster.
- AI as a Tutor: Instead of just reading, I use an AI interface to "challenge" the document’s logic or ask for simpler analogies.
I built a small tool to automate this process for myself (it handles things like mind-mapping and quiz generation across different languages).
Question: Does anyone else use a similar "systematic" approach to self-education, or do you prefer a more organic/slow-reading style? I'm looking for ways to improve this workflow!
