Transfer student here! I'm planning to tour UCLA with my family at the end of May, and most likely will be there on a Saturday. I'll already be familiar with the campus since I'm coming from Bruin Day, but I was just wondering if we'll be able to go inside the halls and libraries on a Saturday and if my entire family can. Just wanna make sure before driving 6 hours.

Also, what are some good spots to show them around campus/westwood village? As of now, the only things I've planned are 1: Campus tour and 2: Hammer Museum. Any spectacular food spots or must-sees?

Thanks!

For context, I'm preparing to apply for summer 2027 swe/tech internships, and I wanted to know if it's better to keep Boy Scouts under leadership/service and have 2 coding projects, or remove it and keep 3 projects. The project I would remove isn't a super good, crazy project, but does Boy Scouts add value to my resume? I thought it might show leadership/soft skills and be something unique to stand out from the other thousands of resumes, but then again, it's my first time recruiting for big companies, so I don't know lol.

Hi!

I'm an incoming stats/ds transfer student, and I found out there's no CS minor at UCLA. Someone suggested minoring in data science engineering, and I was wondering what advantages this gives me for CS classes and if it's worth picking up. I can only add minors after my first quarter, right?

Also, is it possible to double minor? If I wanted to minor in something unrelated to my major (like Arabic and Islamic Studies) along with my DSE minor, is that possible? Really want to make the most of my time at UCLA.

Thanks in advance.
