Just moved in to unit and found out there’s a cockroach issue
I just signed a new lease in Albany park. Moved in literally a week ago and in that same week noticed a cockroach in the kitchen. Since then, I have found them everyday in kitchen and bathroom.
I reached out to property management, they sent maintenance to come spray down the place. He told me he was surprised to hear I had roaches in the unit as he’s never received a complaint. Well, I knocked on my downstairs neighbors door and turns out there’s a roach issue within the building! She said that she’s put in requests to have professional exterminators come to treat the place but they only always send the maintenance man.
I emailed the property management again and have not heard back. I had to buy cockroach bait as well to see if that’ll do anything. I’m not sure what else to do, I’m terrified they will make their way to my bedroom and living room /furniture and personal belongings.
Any advice appreciated!
