Dating in vancouver

I know this is such a non problem but has anyone else also had a really hard time with dating in vancouver? Like im an objectively attractive woman and no guys like EVER approach me. I know it’s not a looks issue cus i never had this problem before coming to ubc but it’s been weighing on me as im going into second year and ive only had one guy seriously talk to me. Another thing that goes along w this problem is the fact the guys mostly want to hookup. Ive tried dating apps and they say long term relationship then we meet up and they’re trying to get me to go to their places and it’s so weird. Idk maybe it’ll be better cus im going into second year now but none of my friends at other schools have this problem and it’s really frustrating.

uncomfortable comments from management

hi i was wondering if anyone has experience with management making weird comments to them. At first i thought it was nothing but now whenever possible one specific manager comments on my eating habits and as time goes on, more have made comments. For context i normally close so i like to get my treat for after work on my long break which is in the middle of my shift. Once i got a chocolate bar and my manager said "oh my goodness is that your lunch" i explained it was for after and didn't think much of it. Another time i bought an apple on my break along with a sandwich i only had a sticker for because it was getting heated up. I got asked if an apple was all i was eating. I understand maybe that one was out of concern but the way i see it is that i'm an adult and it's no ones buisness what i choose to or not to eat. The other day the store was giving free food to employees and i didn't want any for reasons that are irrelevant. Once my manager saw me not eating on my break they commented "don't feel like eating today?" that one actually pissed me off because the whole break room heard. Later, the same shift i got cake for after and got another comment regarding my eating habits. I'm just feeling so frustrated because these comments are mostly coming from managers high up and it makes me so uncomfortable. I've also gotten many questions asking where I'm from which in my opinion, is a microaggression. I'm from the same country i work in, and if I didn't look the way i do, that wouldn't even be a question. I'm just feeling frustrated because I'm continuously getting asked or told things that are irrelevant and mean, honestly, it feels like bullying at this point. Mind you im still pretty new i've only been there for about a month and this is the environment I've been facing. I feel incredibly unwelcomed. Idk what to do. I'm scared to go to upper management cus if i'm being honest it seems like a toxic enviornment overall and im not sure if it would help my case or make matters worse.

arbutus greenway closer

Hi, does anyone have any tips for navigating the closure of Arbutus Greenway going south near 41st street as a new cyclist, it's infuriating having to go up those HUGE hills (I always have to walk up 😞 ) due to the detour, then getting yelled at by the construction people for just following the detour path, plus having to go onto the main roads (by the London Drugs etc.). As a new cyclist, I don't like going on main roads but I don't know what else to do about this closure.
