Overpronation

Does anyone else here have issues with Overpronation? Has wearing barefoot shoes helped at all?

I used to have issues with plantar fascitis and had insoles to help. I only tended to wear these in hiking boots as they didn't fit well elsewhere. I've since had another appointment as I was getting pain in the ball of my foot and toes (prior to trying zero drop/barefoot shoes but still wanted a checkup).

They obviously recommended something with more padding and said I need "support elsewhere than the heel" now but I'm also (still) overpronating.

Just curious as to others experiences and if there are any other factual studies out there.....

I'm not going to go actual barefoot - there is simply too much filth and sharps around.
