do majority of nus students stay in hostels
im an incoming freshman and i cant decide if i wna stay in hostel or not 😭 if i would im mainly set on house since i missed the rc application deadline but theres a few factors holding me back like missing the comfort of my own home & young siblings and im generally adverse to dirty toilets💀💀💀.. i also live 1.5h away from nus but my jc was equally as far so lol idm
but ofc im worried abt the social life part like im generally worried that id try to make friends in cca/within my faculty but we wouldnt be that tight bc they’re more close to their hostel mates whom they’d see more often??
but that again if i think abt it wouldn’t that scenario be worse in ntu where everyone is guaranteed 2 years residence whereas hostel stay in nus is given through selective nature…
tldr: would it be hard to make close friends in nus when not staying in hostel as theyd have closer friends (proximity relationships ukwim) or is that not the case if not THAT many students stay in hostel
