Im not sure if this is the right place but I found out I wasn't born in a refugee camp like my parents said to canadian immigration. I was actually born in the u.s. i was 1 years old after they crossed from the U.S into Canada and reconstructed my identity snd theirs. Im attempting to track down my birth certificate. I have my birth name, the state, the city/County and the address. But the problem is they changed my birth name and the day and month but kept the year intact. I figured out their names they used in the u.s before they changed their identies so I know my mom's maiden name at my birth which is totally different than hers now. (they said my birth certificate was lost in a war) they are actually from a safe country but misrepresented themselves as coming from a war torn country. They destroyed my u.s birth certificate before crossing over into Canada and changed my name and slightly my birthday so canadian immigration would never be able to link back to my u.s birth. I reported it to cbsa and they said it wasn't my fault I was a baby but then just to contact ircc. I don't even know how to contact ircc and whenever I call the representative knows absolutely nothing about my report. They dont seem to take walk ins. They only have an email to send fraud tips to but I haven't heard anything at all back.
My family is actively taking down u.s public Records from the internet i found linking them to living safely in the u.s for years and they also have heavy clout in the government as some work high up in the public service. They've even told me no one in the government will care and no one will believe me. But I just want my real identity, not a fraudulent refugee story.
I don't have money for a private lawyer and legal ontario said they dont help people lose their citizenship and refused to help. They also heavily focused on the severe immigration repercussions for my family if I go through with it. Thats all the lawyer kept saying the entire consultation and that it's not her area of because legal aide just helps people who at risk of losing their citizenship, they dont help people remove their citizenship apparently because i could lose my citizenship because I was a derivative of theirs.
My family is trying to bury this and told me the government will help them keep it buried (IRCC and CBSA). Im considering going public.
I have a meeting with my MP soon.
I need help or advice?
