Anyone else have perfect credit but have ignored medical bills?
I had to go the hospital like 4 years ago and ended up getting like 15kish in debt over both of my visits and I was broke broke. Like I had 300 bucks in my account and was making 35K a year. I read on Reddit about how the hospital will help you out if you make a certain amount etc etc. I also had two ambulance bills for 1,500, so I tried to get financial aid there as well.
Well they denied that, they literally said making 35K a year was too much to get financial aid. I asked for an itemized bill and they would keep just transferring me to different departments and never sent it. Then they started harassing me pretty hard for the money. Also they were really mean despite me trying to pay it, just not the full amount. I read about payment plans and they wanted me to pay like a 600 a a week, lmao. They ended up sending it to collections pretty quickly as well.
So I just ignored it. It was pretty intense with the calls and letters for like a year and then literally nothing. It’s been 4 years and I haven’t gotten anything in the mail about it in 3 years. I haven’t gotten a call from a debt collector in a few years either. It has never hurt my credit and I forgot it existed almost. Anyone else experience this? Also, this was in Florida.
