Strange MDMA Comedown
I’m currently coming down from MDMA and have been getting some really strange sensations that I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced.
When I’m trying to fall asleep, I sometimes get a sudden burst/shock that seems to go through my whole body. It’s almost like a brain zap, except it feels much more widespread than just my head. It can also happen if I hear a sudden/loud noise.
Sometimes I get the feeling like I’m moving in frames too! Like my vision goes a bit stuttery if I move too fast.
The episodes only last a very short time (a few seconds), and I remain completely conscious and aware throughout. It can feel like a sudden jolt/spasm accompanied by a weird sensory sensation, and occasionally it seems to affect what I’m seeing/hearing for that moment.
It’s really annoying because it keeps happening just as I’m trying to fall asleep.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar during an MDMA comedown? I’m particularly interested in whether anyone gets them when hearing sudden sounds or while drifting off to sleep, and how long they lasted for you.
Not looking for a diagnosis — just trying to work out whether this is something other people have experienced after MDMA.
Like most people, I think I went overboard. There were two days where I really got on it, I think it’s enough to put me off ever doing it again!
