Seeking Advice: Interested in NYC Co-Op
Hi Everybody! I’m interested in buying a co-op in nyc but I wanted some opinions regarding my specific situation. NYC has been my favorite place in the world and its been my lifelong dream to live and settle down there. I’ve been saving money for over 10 years and I can finally say that I’m at point where I would be able to buy in cash a co-op in nyc (obviously depending on the area/borough). I currently live in Puerto Rico and I would relocate to make nyc my forever home. I have $0 debt, even my car is paid in full. I don’t really worry about finding a job in nyc as I’ve worked in corporate america for over 10 years and there’s multiple jobs in my field over there. I also lived in hell’s kitchen for half a year for work so I’m well acquainted as to what Im getting myself into in terms of living in such a big city. Is this an achievable dream? Are co-ops open to people buying and moving from out of state?
