Hi! My boyfriend and I are planning to get a working holiday for the UK (youth mobility scheme I think it's called) next year and I thought it would be a better idea for the first weeks/months to start in a workaway, specially because his English is not that good and he doesn't feel confident speaking it yet.

The problem is we don't feel really comfortable cohabiting with large groups of people (like hostels for example), we have no problem with small groups of people (like a family would be great)

This is the first time we'll be doing a workaway, and most of the opportunities I found were of voluntary work with big groups of people, may be doing a workaway is not for people like us? Or am I just not finding the right host yet?

Hola! Conseguí mi primer trabajo en el ámbito It como analista de datos para una empresa de alimentos. La idea es ayudarlos a llegar a un ERP y después empezar a sacar información viable de esos datos.

El problema fue cuando llegué al área administrativa y me mostraron el software que usan. Un diseño de Win95, y se conectan a un servidor externo que puede entrar solo una persona a la vez.

El programa por lo que entendí es un clipper que usa .dbfs de foxbase (al menos eso es lo que vi hasta ahora) pero al momento de manipular esos datos hago agua por todos lados porque no logro usar esos archivos por fuera del .exe que usan de sistema. Y el tipo que diseño todo el sistema 0 bola a la empresa.

Mi pregunta es, vale la pena capacitarme para aprender a usar este sistema y sacar datos desde ahí? O le insisto a los dueños con que el programa ya está obsoleto y estaría bueno considerar uno nuevo a futuro?

Por lo que me dicen muchas empresas de Uruguay usan software como este y vengo mal acostumbrada a usar bases de datos en la nube porque trabajé en una multinacional, pero la verdad mi experiencia es limitada y no tengo mucha idea
