“Not a shadow I can see, but you’re still inside of me”
I just heard a recording of a woman singing a song with what I think are the lyrics given of the title of this post. Googling has not found the lyrics. A different song by the same woman includes, I think, the lyric “every moment leaves a trace.“
The woman was singing in a controlled, intimate way with not much vibrato. She clearly had a “good” voice. I’d say she was singing in the style of, say, a 40’s ballad but it could easily be a modern song in that style.
It’s the kind of singing that would have a tasteful orchestral background, but I couldn’t hear the music because it was coming out of a tiny speaker in a weekend marketplace in Paris on rue des martyrs. I have no reason to think this was a French singer; her English sounded native to me.
I’m trying to identify the song or the singer or both. thanks for any help!
