Installed a three-way (on-off-on) rocker switch, to select between ebike/moped/offroad modes. Mounted it to the frame beneath the seat. In one of the pics you can see that I added a 3-pin 2.8mm female plug to the end of the switch’s wires, which plugs directly into the controller’s stock male 3-pin connector. Originally, I was going to mount it on the handlebars, but when I saw Beachman’s video of the sidecar reverse switch, I decided to mount it under the seat, out of sight. Thanks for the sweet idea, Beachman! Think I’m done with the mods…for now! 😉

Not a big fan of the orange power cable, so I wrap it with a split sleeve wire loom. No need to remove the cable, as the loom is split down the side.

On my first charge, I got a range of 43.4 miles in the unlocked/offroad mode, with a top speed of 46 mph. Testing the range of Moped mode now. Top speed is 36.6 mph. Seems pretty damn good to me! A whole lot better than the 28miles I get on my Rize e-bike with 52v Bafang m620 motor.

A couple of small rigs parked at my office’s garage. The ‘64 looks like a diecast model compared to them. 😆

Charging Question

2026 ‘64

When I plug the charger directly into the battery, the red light comes on along with the blue light. Once it’s finished charging, the green light comes on. But, when I plug the charger into the external charging port (located on the frame outside the battery box), only the blue light comes on. Is this normal? On both occasions the battery was at approximately 66v.

After picking up my new 64 from Beachman Seattle a few weeks ago, I wasted no time making some mods!

  1. Swapped out the clip-ons for vintage style CR dirt bike handlebars.

  2. Raised the front forks one inch, flush with the triple tree/clamp.

  3. Installed one inch taller rear shocks (370mm).

  4. Added a high mounted front fender, left over from my of Triumph Scrambler.

  5. Installed vintage era LED turn signals, similar to what motorbikes had in the 60s/70s.

What a blast to ride! And compliments galore.
