Fort Ancient pottery lug sherd. Dug from a midden in Northern KY

The pot would have had a lug on each side, with a rope tied through them for a handle. Items in the midden were carbon dated to 700-1400 years old.

An elderly friend of mine spent much of his retired adult life meticulously digging and cataloging this midden and he's nearly a third of the way through it. I have about 10 buckets of pot sherds, bone, and stone artifacts that he didn't want.
