Breaking into Data Protection & Privacy

Has anyone had experience getting a first role in DP, without any prior experience? Currently studying for CIPP/E in Ireland but i see employers all asking for a minimum of 3 to 5 years hands on experience (which makes sense, i know). My background is legal & compliance. Would appreciate any tips, thanks

How to come back from a 5 year break??

I have been applying for jobs for ages now, not a single response. Apparently the 5 year corporate break to run my small business and focus on family is putting off recruiters despite my solid corporate experience before (in house compliance lawyer). What do i do?? Ive thought of new certifications but they are so expensive. Help

Springboard?

In need of advise, please: I took a 5 year job break to run my own business plus manage family and now want to return to the corporate world. Obviously in this job market now my chances of picking up where i left off is zero- my many job applications have been hearing crickets, despite having solid experience prior to my career break. Re upskilling : i dont have the budget to fork out for the certifications which are pricey. I looked at Springboard and the best fit is one with Griffith College but I have been told that they're not particularly well respected? Are there any returners here who successfully 'made it' back in to a decent job? Would you mind sharing how you did it please? This whole experience is incredibly dejecting. Thanks.

Nb: my background is in legal
