Built an AI tutor for VT math courses while struggling through their math classes — proofstutor.com

Saw people on YikYak absolutely cooked after the Linear Algebra final, and I thought I could build something to make math less daunting. This includes the lower-level math classes everyone has to take, as well as slightly more advanced classes, including the harder stuff that math majors take.

It's called HokieMath (proofstutor.com). Built it specifically around VT's curriculum and how these classes are actually taught here. Covers 9 courses:

  • MATH 1225 – Calculus of a Single Variable
  • MATH 1226 – Calculus of a Single Variable
  • MATH 2114 – Introduction to Linear Algebra
  • MATH 2204 – Introduction to Multivariable Calculus
  • MATH 2214 – Introduction to Differential Equations
  • MATH 3034 – Introduction to Proofs
  • MATH 3144 – Linear Algebra I
  • MATH 3214 – Calculus of Several Variables
  • MATH 3224 – Advanced Calculus

What it does: generates practice problems at different difficulty levels and grades your proofs with real feedback, quiz mode, spot-the-error exercises, and daily practice sessions you can tie to an upcoming exam date. Works whether you're a math major who actually enjoys this stuff or just trying to survive calc.

$7.99 per course or $54.99 for all 9. There's a contact button in the top right if something's broken. I'm a student here, so I'll actually read it. Free trial, too, so no need to commit anything upfront.

Planning to expand to CS, EE, Finance, and Accounting down the line, too. Also gonna release an app on the App Store. Let me know what you think!
