I’d imagine Lucy and Zeref are going to be the popular ones and for good reason. Fairy Tail in a way being a story of Lucy finding a family and her growth as a person, and Zeref arguably the most developed character in the series.

But my personal picks go to Wendy and Laxus. Wendy’s growth is similar to Lucy’s, doing everything she does right, but I prefer her quality over quantity focus and given Wendy does it mainly with Carla and often less plot centered, I feel her growth as the girl scared to hurt someone to the powerful enchantress that impressed even Irene, is the best in the series.

As for Laxus, his growth is a very unique redemption arc, one focused on finding purpose and that he was never evil, just misguided. Later vowing to redeem himself and not caring about credit. He does it for himself. The moment where he steps in to protect Touka, a complete stranger for no other reason than they shared the same mark, shows this perfectly.

For me it’s definitely Laxus. Probably because he doesn’t try at all and still looks cool. My HMs would be Erza because she’s Erza, Mira when she flips the switch and serious Natsu because that’s when he reminds you why he’s the mc.

Also, Brandish’s nonchalant aura might be the most unique. She could crush you… or she could not. Depends on if she’s bored or not.

And if you look closely, you might be able to spot one Levy.

What’s that one thing about Fairy Tail you just HAVE to let the people know? It can be popular, unpopular, funny or crack. All opinions welcome.

Mine are Mira’s takeover should qualify as demon slayer magic and Sting as a GM just feels weird, I would’ve made Minerva that instead. I would’ve also liked to see Mavis use more magic rather than the Fairy Spells.

I think Zeref is going to be the favorite here for obvious reasons. But my list would be

1. ⁠Zeref - Arguably the best developed and written character in the show. Teased since lullaby. No further explanation needed.

2. Hades - The perfect halfway point boss. The shadow lurking and finding out he was the second guild master is a great twist. Felt like Zeref’s right hand man and had Team Natsu so terrified even nakama couldn’t save them 🐐

3. Irene - First female villain who felt she could lead. Obviously there’s another reason, but I like her character and her dynamic with Wendy was the perfect way to continue/redeem her but sadly 💔

HM Selene - Pretty much Irene on Acnologia’s scale. Probably had the best potential and could’ve saved YQ.

Lucy’s eternal battle vs her rent money and Gray accidentally making Mira cry will never not be funny.

Imo Laxus is a very shippable character and actually works pretty well with almost any fairy girl. But if I had to pick it would be

1. Kiria
2. Lisanna
3. Juvia (fun one)
4. Mira

All of these are good, I just like Kiria and Lisanna because they feel superhero coded. I threw Levy in for fun because her trying to carry him is adorable, and I know people like shipping him with Lucy.
