Why does CaRMS-NRMP auto-withdrawal still exist?
Title. With CMGs and AMGs now considered IMGs in each other's countries, I am genuinely wondering why the auto-withdrawal clause still exists. My understanding is that IMGs don't exactly compete for the same spots as native MGs?
I do think it's now an unnecessary barrier during the residency application process for Canadian AMGs and American CMGs. Am I off-base here or is there something I'm missing?
