Carson Benge is among some good company
To have an ice cold start to his career to now ending the season amongst some of the best in the bigs is quite impressive.

The Mets defense has been incredible in the second half, say what you want about him but seems like Stearns actually had a good vision but all the injuries prevented the season from getting off the ground.
He also witnessed Sato hitting his league leading 34th HR. This is now the 4th instance this year of the Mets scouting Sato. Let's hope he gets it done after missing out on Murakami.
There's only 6 total players in the model that project for over 20 HRs, 20 SB, and a wRC+ over 100 in the majors. Suero being one of them along with the ability to play C, 1B, and all 3 OF positions makes him such a unique player.
So when do we get to give Justin Willard & Daniel McKinney their credit for helping near 2 staffs-worth of arms turn in quality campaigns?
In addition, just 6 pitching IL stints all year. One being a week-long (Scott) and one being a freak injury (Holmes).
Refreshing.
Seeing people here and on Twitter complaining about the Peralta return just wanted to remind some folk that this was the Mets top 30 only a year ago (Thornton was unranked btw)
I always found it odd that people want to trade a young, controllable catcher who has a pretty solid bat and then I saw this post that there are only 10 catchers with a higher WAR than him and none of them are realistically available for trade. So for anyone who wants Alvy traded who are you replacing him with?

Season is trash but we got this at least. Interesting to note that the Rays are 20th, could be a good trade match come the deadline.
