Longtime lurker, first-time poster. I’ve been on Zepbound for 11.9 weeks (my 12th shot is tomorrow morning). I’ve lost 51.7 pounds (45M, 6’7”, 287 this morning). Big thanks to this community — it helped convince me to try Zepbound, learn about the drug, plan for the regimen, etc. It’s been extraordinarily helpful to me. I’ve got a way to go (another 40ish pounds — I’ll never have a “normal” BMI on my frame), but the 50-pound mark was extraordinary for me.

I’m still on 5mg - its working and I actually do have some moderate or severe nausea on night 2 or 3 post-shot each week (a reminder to me to eat cautiously - both in what I eat and how much). I take Zofran as needed and it helps in the worst of times. I’ve learned from this community that Zepbound is a great drug, but to get great results, it’s really about the lifestyle change that accompanies the drug. The drug is only part of the equation.

My journey is complicated though because of my lifestyle. Because of my work, I often need to eat out, have drinks with, lunches, dinners, with clients. I’ve learned to eat more responsibly, eat less, and still enjoy the time and appreciate the meal. I see many of the yummy sounding high protein, low calore meal prep "for a week" ideas in other forums; unfortunately, they can’t work with my lifestyle. I’ve been very happy, though, that I’m still able to lose weight by making responsible choices aided by Zepbound reducing/eliminating the dreaded food noise.

One low point, I think I’ve lost a dear friend who’s a physician. I hid my journey from him til I couldn’t, and when he learned I was on the drug, he became irate and said “just eat less and exercise more” (like I had never heard that advice before or tried it). He thought I was taking the “easy way out” and I should just do 36-hour water fasts. People who say things like that haven’t lived my life and probably don’t understand what it’s like to be heavy your whole life and to try and fail so many times.

I’m incredibly grateful to all of you for your stories, your support, and your kindness to each other as we go through this journey together. I’m still on mine, and it’s gratifying knowing about those who are on it with me, have gone before, and will be starting soon.
