How Did You Know?

I am unfortunately int the world of having to determine if the lump I feel is benign or not. This weekend I was doing a self exam and felt something hard in my left side upper left quadrant, kinda right where the breast tissue starts to thin. The weird thing was, was the first thought in my head was "oh my God it's a lump". Like no hesitation. I have had spots before but never thought instantly 'lump'. The thing we did o had no reason to do a self exam, I'm terrible about them but for some reason I felt the urge to do one and did (and had a bit of tenderness). I see my gyn on Wednesday for an appt to check. But was curious if anyone else has had an instant feeling on if a lump. I've been second guessing myself all weekend thinking maybe it's muscle or rib, but I have a 37% lifetime risk so I'm getting checked anyway
