I’ve been working for my current company for over 8 years. It’s a big tech company.

I make good money (around 100k/annual) but for the last 2-3 years my frustration with the job grew bigger and bigger.

The first years were great. I progressed in my career, the company did really good and it was fun. A lot of stressful days but at the end of the day you always had the feeling of „this is a great company to work for“. Gradually things worsened. The pressure on my role kept increasing to make more revenue and at the same time perks have decreased. My role was stripped of line responsibilities, recruiting & hiring, etc. not just for me but all colleagues within my role description. Since then it’s mostly „make more revenue, squeeze your clients, gain new clients“ and no real strategy behind all of it. Every year is a repetition of the previous.

I see less and less purpose in my job and the only thing that gets me going is the salary, but even that has been stagnant for the last 2 years. The job itself is becoming more and more meaningless for me and I barely survive my days with mostly sarcasm and negative feelings. Now coming back from vacation or even a long weekend I just feel dread which I didn’t have for the first 4-5 year of working at my current job.

I'm half assing my job so much nowadays and I'm not even proud of it because I increasingly question my own abilities.

At the same time I have no idea what else I’m good at and what jobs to look for and the current job market it not what it was a few years ago.

Does it sound like it’s time to leave?
