A Post for the Fellas only - 7 Days Post Op, middle aged male

So my surgery went well and I know a lot of guys worry about this but don't want to ask

My junk works as good as ever. I finally couldn't resist and tested things out. I did take precautions as not to injure the surgery area as it was still only a week ago.

No loss of feeling and I can tell I will be able to fully perform once the operation is fully healed.

I also produced a full, healthy looking delivery package 📦 , so I know I can still reproduce 👍

49 YO Male, 48 hour post surgery update

Had my first bowel movement this morning. It took a bit there was some mild pain with pushing and mostly just seemed like a bit of fear of tearing something. I had to lean to the side a bit and prop my left leg up a bit which is the same side the hernia was on. But I did eventually pass some stool.

No sex yet, but my plumbing still works 110% if any guys were worried about that (I know some of you guys are majorly concerned about that but don't want to ask, I hope I was able to answer your question)

I am still achy and there is some swelling where the hernia used to be, so sometimes I catch myself looking down there a lot, like a bit of worry it is returning. But so far, so good.

One surprise is the psychological effect the hernia had on me. I actually have a bit of "PTSD" , if you want to call it that, where I keep thinking the stitches will somehow tear open if I make one bad move. But no, no problems at all.

EDIT: I have not required any painkillers. Not even Tylenol. I was prescribed Percocet and it is still sitting on the counter untouched.

49 YO Male, I had inguinal surgery yesterday, here is my experience so far. Not that bad!

I only had one negative experience so far. I puked a few times after surgery.

I was expecting worse from some of the recovery videos I saw on YouTube.

Once the nausea cleared up I have not needed pain killers at all. Not even Tylenol. They gave me Percocet and I haven't taken any yet.

I still have not pooped today It feels like my first poop might be a little awkward when it comes.

Having my wisdom teeth out as a kid was way worse than this.

I would describe any pain as more of a throb. Like if someone punched you in the groin a few days ago but you are on the mend. Sometimes I feel a little twinge in my diaphragm area but it could be from the vomiting.

I only feel it walking or sitting. If I lay down in bed the pain disappears altogether.

I did notice I developed a bit of PTSD from the hernia I keep having to check to see if it returned. I keep looking expecting it to slip out again.

But so far nothing except a bit a of light swelling in that area.

EDIT: I had a left laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. My sister said I was gone for about an hour and a half after they rolled me away.

I went in at 6:30 am and signed in at the main entrance of the hospital, I was in the main waiting room for about 30 minutes and then they took me into pre-op. In the pre-op area, I was asked to change it to a gown, then given IV and the nurses told me they were just waiting for the doctor to finish up another surgery and I was next. That lasted another 30 minutes then that's when I was rolled away so that was another hour and a half so I woke up about 10 and I stayed there for about two hours mainly because I was vomiting and they didn't wanna let me go yet and I was on my way home about 12 PM. I got home. , I still felt a little nauseous but better and I went to my bed and fell asleep for several hours. I woke up later, still slightly nauseous, but eventually the nausea disappeared and then I was able to eat after that. Everything went smoothly since.
