Acra 1N predictions

This event is shaping up to be a real barn burner, with OCC posting fast times from the west, and Virginia dominating all season in the East. Purdue was right on Virginias tale at Siras and Delaware just made a novice 8 too. It’s probably going to go down like this:

Grand Finals

  1. Delaware - 6:04 (these novices have been tempered by varsity racing and will be way too fast)

  2. Orange Coast - 6:11 (undefeated and they’re a funded team. Their 7 seat gets way too much layback so they will probably catch a crab and lose to Delaware)

  3. Michigan - 6:14 (massive massive ergs in that boat, but they’re all walk ons with mediocre coaching)

  4. Virginia - 6:15 (great crew, but they’re peaked too early in the season)

  5. UCLA - 6:18 (good crew but a beat behind the true elites)

  6. Washington State - 6:25 (ranked 6th for a reason)

Petite Finals

  1. Purdue - 6:02 (fastest crew at their peak but they will choke in semis)

  2. MSU - 6:22 (finally practicing their 1N, but it’s too little too late to make grands)

  3. Minnesota - 6:24 (Solid crew)

  4. Rutgers - 6:26 (just a hair off of Minnesota)

  5. UNC - 6:30 (dark horse, but it’s a long shot so I should probably keep them in B finals)

  6. Uga - 6:31 (solid program that’s only been on the up in recent years)

Acra 1N Rankings Critcism

Former Michigan State 2N rower (now 1N) here. I’ve been watching the Acra polls on that random insta account and I can’t help but notice that MSU isn’t there. Are they even paying attention? We beat Michigan in the fall by multiple seconds, but somehow they’re ranked 4th?

And we came second last year with a 7:05 2k average. Our average this year is 6:57, so we’re very clearly the gold medal favorites. Does anyone know who I can contact to fix our ranking? Thanks.
