I did a cage cleaning today and noticed my Chinchillas eye glazed over like this. My Mom and I give him and his cage mate treats everyday and we haven’t noticed his eye like this! I have no idea how long it’s been like this, this couldn’t have happened overnight??? My Vets are closed for tonight and when i make an appointment tomorrow i’m worried it’s going to be for a few days from now.

What do i do in the meantime? Saline drops? Wipe his eye gently with towel?? This has to be an infection :( He’s still eating, fat, and active as usual.

Is he going to die from this if the vet scheduled is a few days from now???? What do i do?

ALSO, do i still give him his dust baths or no?
