Mouth tape or Full Face Mask?
Hey all. I've struggling to keep my CPAP mask on all night. I keep taking it off and leaving it off.
My sleep doctor is concerned about my compliance that is now less than 50%. She had me try a Lena full face mask by Lowenstein and was pleased with its leakage rates and performance. I found it harder to remove unconsciously at night. But I despise its restrictiveness.
As an alternative, she recommends mouth tape and a nasal mask. She is a believer in nasal breathing and is concerned about my mouth breathing at night. But the mouth tape is also restrictive - literally a gag - and I'm ripping the tape off at night.
She's concerned about continued sleepiness during the day and driving if I don't meet minimum compliance at 4 hours and the goal is actually all night.
Ideas welcomed.
