Networking+Hangout in Windy city (and local questions)?
This is a series I'm plan to start this year while visiting cities (inspired by a friend), which I want to keep make new friends that is motivated, and want to contribute the society with good intentions.
Little introduction about myself, I'm a R&D design engineer in aerospace industry, while trying to pursue sustainability in engineering as a long term goal. Beside of work, I'm a foodie that enjoys a good meaningful conversation (I'm also a good listener), always love traveling and watching insightful videos. While artistic started to plant during my childhood (music, paintings), I consider myself to be sporty and outdoor (hiking + sports leagues), which is why I select Chicago during my Memorial Weekend get away.
As my first time in Chicago, I want to visit multiple places, with a help of bus + bike (maybe a uber ride if necessary). Since I'll be staying near Skokie for three days, is there a breakfast place near by or in downtown Chicago that is unique to Illinois/Chicago? (If not, I already plan on visiting Velour Restaurant, Libanais Restaurant and Ann Sather Restaurant that no where can be found in North Carolina).
As far as the friends that been to Chicago, they're saying it's okay to take CTA with daylight, but since I'm planning to visit Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum, I'm a little concerned whether I should still take the bus/CTA around (especially saw a lot of gunshot incidents at the region below China Town)?
Lastly, I'm interested in doing a tour with experts, and I'm currently decided between these tours, which one worth the most when it comes to history and architecture (consider knowledge wise)?
