Fortnite completely freezes my PC after a few matches since recent update

Hi, I’ve been having a really strange issue for the past few weeks, ever since one of the latest updates.

After around 3 or 4 matches, the game completely freezes, my PC stops responding, and then everything crashes to the point where the system starts constantly rebooting, almost like Windows itself got corrupted.

I’ve already tried several supposed fixes, including reinstalling the game, switching from DirectX 12 to DirectX 11 (which actually made it crash during the first match), tweaking settings, checking SSD health, testing RAM, updating the BIOS, reinstalling GPU drivers, and I even fully formatted the PC because I genuinely thought Windows was corrupted.

I reinstalled Windows 11 Pro, installed only Fortnite, and the issue still happens.

The weird thing is that this ONLY happens with Fortnite. I have hundreds of games on Steam, including several modern AAA games, and none of them cause any issues. I also don’t get any strange error messages or blue screens.

One thing I did notice is that while playing Fortnite, my CPU usage gets extremely high, sometimes reaching 100%, especially while finding a match, sitting in the lobby, or during the battle bus phase before dropping. Temperatures are completely normal, usually around 60–70°C.

GPU usage seems normal, temperatures are even better, and Fortnite is literally the only game that pushes my system this hard.

Honestly, I can’t figure out what the problem could be because this started completely out of nowhere a few weeks ago. Before that, my friend and I used to play for 6–8 hours on our free days without any issues.

This is especially frustrating because Fortnite is basically the only game I can regularly play with my best friend, and it’s driving me crazy not being able to find any solution while none of the common fixes work.
