Bakugan Season 2 was never supposed to happen

Today i just realized Bakugan was never supposed to have a season 2.

Found out after researching why the series went downhill so much after season 1 and 2.

When Mitsuo Hashimoto directed and Atsushi Maekawa wrote Season 1, they created it as a self-contained, 52-episode anime. It was meant to end permanently with the Bakugan returning to Vestroia and the portal closing.

However, while the anime had mediocre ratings in Japan, the toyline exploded into a massive, multi-million-dollar phenomenon in North America and Europe. Spin Master (the Canadian toy company) and Sega Toys suddenly demanded more content to sell more toys.

Also season 2 was supposed to be only 26 episodes long and end with the defeat of Spectra.

It's crazy to think it was only meant to be a one season anime. Honestly would have been so much better, though i do think season 2 is highly praised.

Masquerade vs Dan final battle - Why didn't masquerade throw down the doom card?

No one ever mentioned this, but masquerade never threw down the doom card in the final battle against dan.

Edit: Some people claimed they can just return again since it happens after Dan and Drago were sent to the doom dimension.

I personally think Masquerade grew a conscious at this point after going to the doom dimension himself and no longer wishes to send people there. But that's just me.

Is no one going to talk about Masquerade’s room and choice of furniture?

Shockingly enough, no one on the internet ever commented on Masquerade's hideout.

It was showcased in episode 2 of the series when Dan asked him to show up for a brawl.

I had to take two screenshots as it was revealed horizontally.

In the first screenshot, we see masks and stairs. The masks seem to fit his theme of being masked ... or is there something more to it?

The stairs imply there is a room above him. Seemingly it sounds like he's in a basement.

In the second screenshot, we see Masquerade sitting on a chair with a computer and either a table or a desk. There's even more masks above his head.

The vibes sound creepy / mysterious.

Now i have always wondered

  1. Is this basement in Alice's house ? If not, where is it located?

Update: It's a private wing of Alice’s grandfather’s lab/home in Russia.

  1. Does he actually use the staircase ?

Because it feels like he would teleport instantly from the room to any location he is going, which had me curious if he ever uses the staircase and where it leads to.

  1. What's with the masks ?

He does hide his identity but why does he have more than 6 masks hanging around the room ?

Update: It's symbolic and not much more to it.

4: Is that a small trapdoor in the room as well ?
