Relatively new/ not knowing what to do next
I’m still pretty new to the field and started my first maintenance job a little under a month ago. One thing I’ve been struggling with is figuring out what I should be doing throughout the day when I’m not actively assigned a task.
Usually I’ll finish whatever I’ve been told to do, ask what’s next, complete that, and then end up back in the same situation where I’m unsure what I should be doing afterward. I don’t want to come across as someone who just stands around waiting for instructions or gives off a bad impression. Is this normal or will I just learn what needs done and what to do with time?
For those of you with more experience in maintenance, what are some productive things you typically do during downtime? Any advice for a newcomer trying to stay busy and be proactive would be appreciated.
